- An unhappy customer drove through the glass doors of a Mazda dealership in Utah on Monday.

- The dealership refused to issue a refund, leading to the customer’s reckless response.
Sometimes customer disputes escalate in unexpected ways, but rarely do they involve shattered glass and a car in the showroom. That’s exactly what happened at a Mazda dealership in Sandy, Utah, earlier this week. A frustrated customer, angered by the dealership’s refusal to refund his purchase of what he believed to be a faulty used Subaru Outback, decided to deliver his grievance in the most destructive way possible.
The incident began on a Monday morning, when the customer purchased a third-generation Subaru Outback (2003–2009) from the dealership. Shortly after, he claims to have discovered mechanical issues with the vehicle and returned, hoping to get his money back.

However, the dealership denied the request, citing the “as is” condition of the sale. According to reports from Fox 13, the disgruntled buyer warned staff that if they didn’t issue a refund, he would drive through the front doors. When the dealer stood firm, the man made good on his threat, returning the car in the most unconventional—and illegal—way imaginable.

A video that quickly went viral on social media captured the chaotic moment. The Subaru crashed through the dealership’s glass facade, shattering the doors and destroying the front desk area. Employees can be seen scrambling to take cover as the vehicle barreled into the showroom. Moments later, the driver stepped out of the car, shouting profanities at the stunned staff. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident.
Predictably, the dealer promptly called the police, who arrived at the scene and arrested the driver. He now faces serious charges, including felony criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. Although no injuries were reported, the reckless act left the showroom damaged and employees shaken.
While it’s easy to sympathize with the frustration of purchasing a problematic used vehicle, resorting to such extreme and violent behavior is entirely unjustifiable. The dangerous actions could have easily resulted in serious harm to employees or other customers. Hopefully, this individual will address the underlying anger that led to this destructive and unnecessary outburst.
