Nuna Baby Essentials has announced an important recall of 608,786 baby car seats across the US. The manufacturer has revealed that debris can enter the area where the front harness adjuster is located and that this could prevent the teeth of the adjuster mechanism from properly clamping onto the adjuster strap.

adpushup.que.push(function() {

} else {

}
});
The recall involves several of Nuna’s Rava models; specifically those with model numbers CS-05, CS05101, CS05103, CS05104, CS05105, CS05106, CS05109, CS05110, CS05111, CS05114, and CS05115. All impacted seats were manufactured between July 16, 2016, and October 25, 2023, and have a plastic harness adjuster, as opposed to some other models that have fabric over this adjuster.

Nuna announced the recall not long after an investigation from the NHTSA following customer complaints about harnesses that could loosen. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities caused by the faulty seats.

Rather than repairing or replacing the car seats itself, Nuna will provide owners with a free remedy kit to resolve the fault. This kit includes a new seat pad, instructions on how to install it and properly clean the harness adjuster area, a screwdriver to remove and replace the plastic cover, and a plastic brush to clean the harness adjuster’s teeth. Nuna says the new seat pad covers the plastic area and will prevent debris from entering the adjuster mechanism.
“We take pride that you have chosen our gear to be part of your everyday life with your family, so it’s no surprise that responsibility and dependability are two of Nuna’s core values,” the company said in a statement. “We strive to always provide the best, safest gear possible.”
Nuna will reach out to all registered owners of the Rava seat, alerting them to the recall and providing instructions for receiving their new seat pad and cleaning kit. Those who haven’t registered their seat can do so online or reach out to the manufacturer directly.
