- The Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Kaiju is a one-off truck designed for Australian promotions.
- Key upgrades include a 2000W inverter, electric shocks, and a 168-liter fuel tank for long trips.
- Though the Kaiju won’t be sold, many accessories can be ordered directly from suppliers.
This is the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Kaiju and it might just be the ultimate version of the Defender-inspired British pickup truck. Unfortunately, it’s only a one-off and has only been built to be used at various promotional events across Australia over the coming months.

The special Grenadier Quartermaster gets its name from the Japanese word for ‘giant creature’ or ‘monster’. The truck has been modified with many accessories thanks to the company’s partnership with many leading 4×4 accessory suppliers, including Stedi, Norweld, Rhino-Rack, Redarc, JMACX, and BF Goodrich.

Norweld was called on to design a custom tray and canopy for the Ineos. Made from lightweight aluminum, it includes a 40-liter (10.5-gallon) water tank, a 1,200 mm (47.2-inch) trundle drawer with a drop-in table, and a 2-Pac paint finish to ensure it can handle even the toughest environments. There’s also a 130-liter (34-gallon) Bushman fridge and a bolt-on jerry can holder, perfect for long adventures into the wilderness.

Redarc has installed a 2000W inverter and a 150Ah lithium battery rated at over 5,000 cycles. Remote reservoir electric shocks from JMACX have also been installed and offer 16 stages of adjustment. Maxtrax has added its beach recovery kit and mounting kit, while Stedi has added an array of new lights. These include a 4-inch flood beam, a 4-inch spot beam, and a 7.5-inch work light. A long-range, 168-liter (44.3-gallon) fuel tank has also been added.
Several of Ineos’ accessories round off the upgrades, including a bull bar, rock sliders, and checker plates. As the Kaiju is based on the Trailmaster Edition, it also has a snorkel, auxiliary battery, 17-inch steel wheels, and an access ladder.
While the Grenadier Quartermaster Kaiju won’t be sold to customers, many of these parts can be ordered directly from the suppliers. Interestingly, the factory-backed Ineos warranty covers many aftermarket accessories designed for their truck.
“We wanted to create a truly unique Quartermaster together with some incredibly innovative local accessory partners,” Ineos Automotive regional director Justin Hocebar said. “The Quartermaster Cab Chassis is a ‘blank canvas’ that allows for great versatility when it comes to customization, so together with these project partners, we let our imagination run wild. Ultimately, the ‘Kaiju Quartermaster’ expresses our Australian vision of Built For More.”
